Training & Ongoing Support
You don’t need a background in insulation to open a Thistledown Attic Insulation location. We’ve built our onboarding around the reality that most new owners come from management, sales, or another trade entirely. What matters is that you share how we treat a home: shoe covers on, drop cloths down, quiet tools when the kids are napping, and a written price before any work starts. We’ll teach you the rest, from batt R-values to spray foam ratios to hiring technicians who pass a background check and show up in uniform. Our training facility and field coaching are designed to get you from signed agreement to first customer with confidence, not guesswork.
Initial Training
Week one starts at our dedicated training facility, where you’ll work with actual Owens Corning, Johns Manville, Knauf, Rockwool, CertainTeed, Icynene, Demilec, and GreenFiber products in a mock attic environment. You’ll handle the materials, run the hoses, and feel the difference between a proper install and a rushed one. We don’t believe in classroom-only training for a physical trade.
The operations module covers everything from scheduling software to inventory management to the exact script our live answering service uses when a homeowner calls at 10 p.m. on a Saturday. You’ll learn our hiring playbook: where we find technicians, how we background-check them, and the uniform and conduct standards that make families comfortable opening their door.
Marketing training is practical, not theoretical. We show you how to build local name recognition in your specific market, how to price jobs using our written-estimate system, and how to present the 365-Day Done Right Promise so customers understand it’s not a gimmick, it’s the standard. By the end of onboarding, you’ll have installed insulation yourself, written mock estimates, and shadowed a working crew on at least two live jobs.
Launch Support
Opening day isn’t a figure-it-out moment. Our launch team works with you for the 60 days before and 90 days after your first customer call. We help set up your local marketing presence, configure your lead intake system, and ensure your phone is answered by a live person 24 hours a day, 7 days a week from day one. No voicemail trees, no “call back Monday” gaps.
Your first ten jobs get direct field coaching. A senior operations advisor rides along or reviews job photos with you daily, checking that shoe covers and drop cloths are in place, that the written price was delivered before work began, and that the clean-up photo meets our standard. We want your early customers to become referral sources, not cautionary tales. You’ll also get help with vendor account setup across all eight brand lines, so you can offer homeowners real choice, including pet-safe options where they matter.

You’re Never Alone
Every Thistledown Attic Insulation location is independently owned, but independence doesn’t mean isolation. You get the systems, the brand, and the backing of a family that has been doing this since 2003. Call (909) 768-6501 to talk through your market, your timeline, and what opening day would look like. Or request more information below and we’ll call you back, live person to live person.
